Whilst forging a successful career in the corporate world, Stacey began to search for a ‘better and more ethical way’ to navigate life in big business. Looking at many spiritual practices, she discovered that a form of paganism,Goddess-based witchcraft, satisfied her most. After deciding to fully study Wicca, (the fastest growing spiritual practice on several continents) and other related traditions, Stacey was initiated as a ’solitary’ Witch well over fifteen years ago.
Stacey Demarco is the The Modern Witch. Known for her very grounded style of practical magic, she now combines a successful career in writing with her vocation of teaching and consulting through Witchcraft techniques throughout the world. Her passion for weaving ancient techniques and philosophies to solve modern problems has given her a refreshing point of difference and a high degree of relevance amongst both pagan and non-pagan alike. Her first book, Witch in the Boardroom – Proven Business Magic was first published in 2003, with a second edition published in 2005. Her second book, ‘Witch in the Bedroom-Proven Sensual Magic’ was published internationally in 2006. ‘The Coffee Oracle’ a very modern guide on building intuition followed, with the highly successful “The No Excuses Guide to Soulmates” co-written with medium Jade-Sky, began a popular spiritual myth-busting series backed up by lectures around Australia in 2009. New books are always in the pipeline.
Her audio programmes, featuring the effective guided meditations and rituals based on her books and workshops, are updated regularly. Her website,
themodernwitch.com, is one of the most viewed of its genre in the southern hemisphere. Stacey regularly appears on radio and television such as Sunrise and Body & Soul, is a subject matter expert in popular blogs such as Sam and the City on www.smh.com.au and has been interviewed on Pagan, spiritual and lifestyle issues by Australian and international newspapers. She writes for magazines including Spellcraft, Goddess, Nova,That’s Life and many other publications on a variety of issues.
Stacey lives on Sydney’s Northern beaches by the sea, with her husband and animal companions. She is an avid horsewoman, traveller, human companion to animals, vegetarian and loves yoga but fears she will never master the ‘crocodile pose’ sufficiently to not face plant regularly!

Stacey leads the full moon meditation evenings at Breathing Space regularly – ’storytelling for adults’ – by donation, with all proceeds going to The Sea Shepherd organisation to assist the fight against whaling in our Southern Oceans.
