Stuart Mashman has over fifteen years of experience helping people improve their physical fitness and well being. He has extensive skills in remedial exercise therapy, personal training and wellness coaching, with formal qualifications including a Masters Degree in Exercise Science.
Stuart developed a passion for fitness early in life, being a competitive middle distance and cross country runner at high school. After leaving school, he continued to challenge himself by completing his first triathlon (swim-cycle-run) in 1986, eventually competing in the Australian Ironman Triathlon Championships in 1993 and 1994.
Stuart’s love of sport and his growing interest in health and fitness led him to the University of NSW where he completed two degrees, including a Masters in Exercise Science. Since graduating, he has applied his skills and knowledge in a wide range of settings including sports coaching, cardiac rehabilitation, personal training and remedial exercise therapy. Since leaving a full time role as Health & Fitness Manager at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in 2006, Stuart has devoted his time to teaching exercise classes and personal training on the Northern Beaches, and has been teaching Swiss Ball and Stretch classes in Avalon for the past four years.
“Since starting the Swiss ball and Stretch classes in Avalon, my aim has been to provide a high quality, safe and non-intimidating exercise environment, whilst having a bit of fun at the same time. One of the most satisfying aspects of my role as instructor is seeing a nervous beginner transform into a relaxed and confident participant, enjoying all the benefits of a more active lifestyle.”
Stuart is also available for personal training and remedial exercise therapy.
