Should I practice yoga when I’m sick?
You need to gauge how ill you are for yourself, but usually at the first sign or a cold or flu, it is good to practice yoga to help stimulate the immune system and encourage purging of any toxins, blockages and germs. The duration and severity of colds can be reduced in most cases, but of course, if you are very ill (dizzy, nauseous, achey, weak/faint, sneezy or phlegm-ridden etc) or pregnant, then it is best to rest and recover. Naturally be mindful of others when deciding to attend a public class, otherwise choose a gentle home practice and lots of TLC!
